A little more about my journey....

From a young age, I have relied on a spiritual anchor, evidence that there is a guiding hand in the universe and that every life matters to God. We are here for a reason and purpose, not just to live life but to find where we fit in the grand design. To me, divinity is a God who knows and loves me, and his Son, Jesus Christ, is the foundation of my beliefs. Divinity may look different for you, but what binds us is the light and love we receive from our spiritual space and the light and love we show and give each other.

Life took an unexpected turn a few years back, leaving me utterly trapped. The weight of worry, fear, uncertainty, and the relentless pursuit of perfectionism became unbearable, clouding my connection with God. This mental chaos, a struggle that many of us share, can leave us feeling drained and disconnected, our thoughts foggy. You are not alone in this.

Our minds are like a circuit board. Power always goes to the board, but sometimes the circuit gets tripped. Even though our divine power source is always available to us, if our mind is a mess, it is difficult to recognize the voice because it is drowned out by the crisis that may be happening.

Thankfully, these circuits can be restored, offering a beacon of hope in our journey with Him.

During the crisis in my life, I discovered additional tools in practicing therapeutic yoga, a form of yoga that focuses on healing and restoring balance to the mind, body, and spirit. This practice has helped restore my balance with an acronym, R.E.S.T.O.R.E., to represent these tools.

The acronym stands for each tool individually but can be separated into two parts to help gauge personal needs in each present moment.

R.E.S.T. and O.R.E.

The R.E.S.T. phase is when you are not feeling balanced. It is the check-in phase and a time to turn inward and reconnect with your body’s needs, love yourself, and grow from a space of gratitude.

The O.R.E. phase is when you are balanced and can live your purpose. It is the building phase and a time to turn outward, love, and give back to others and the world you live. This phase is not just about balance, but about personal growth and fulfillment, empowering you to live your purpose.

I have maintained a more balanced state of peace by diligently incorporating the R.E.S.T. phase into my daily routine. This could involve resetting foundations, energizing my body, offering self care, and giving thanks. This has allowed me to experience the love of God more deeply.

Embracing this love and light fills me with the energy and enthusiasm to thrive in the O.R.E. phase by cultivating oneness, rising to my purpose, and educating myself and others.

The Iconic Promise of the Lotus Flower

There was once a little girl. . .the daughter of a king. . . .who woke up, orphaned and lost, in a place of murky, polluted waters.

Such waters that seemed unlikely to bring birth and life to the lotus flower.

Once a seed planted in a murky pond, the lotus flower comes from humble beginnings.

Although far beneath the water’s surface, the lotus root took hold and began its search for the sun.

Its continued reach through the distortion of the water was essential to find the sun’s ultimate source of light.

Symbolically, the sun represents knowledge, truth, and light.

Lotus flowers know that to bloom is their ultimate goal, no matter the difficult start.

Born as a daughter of a king, there was no doubt this girl was divine.

If she were still, she would be able to feel the truth of where she, a princess, had come from.

Reaching for the light her Father provided would help her know the noble role she was to play.

Like a lotus flower, she would rise above the water’s surface with a conquering will to survive.

When rooted with such desire, character, and strength, the girl’s search for the sun—the very source of truth and light—was possible.

For it was only in the
light of the Son that she would come to know her true self, her unique beauty, talents, and gifts to bring to the world.

In the lotus’ full bloom, the center part of the flower would be revealed so that she would discover her uniquely divine purpose in the Master Design.
